For as long as we can remember, Alvarinho has always been present in our Territory. Traditionally, in our region, vines were planted on the edges of the fields, with cereals occupying a central place in the plots. In 1974, João António Cerdeira and his parents, António Esteves Ferreira and Maria Cerdeira, decided to break this tradition and planted the first plot of continuous vines of the Alvarinho variety in Melgaço. João António's pioneering spirit marked the history of our family, which has since been linked to the production of Alvarinho in our Territory.
Today, the third generation of the family, brothers Maria João and António Luís, together with their mother, Maria Palmira Cerdeira, continue the family project. António Luís, graduated in Enology, built a deep knowledge of the Alvarinho grape variety throughout his life. Maria João, a veterinarian by profession, takes responsibility for viticulture and has successfully introduced organic production in our vineyards.
Our vision extends to the Territory and includes the sustainable revitalization of the surrounding rural environment. This led us to invest in wine tourism and, more recently, in the production of organic Infusions.
Come and discover with us the unique culture of the Alvarinho Harvest in Monção and Melgaço, where everyone helps each other, invites friends and family, eats and drinks. This family and community dynamic is well portrayed in our Winegrowers Club: more than 150 families dedicate themselves to Alvarinho at the end of the day and on weekends, obtaining additional income. Nowadays, Soalheiro wines are made by many hands in small vineyard plots, treated like gardens, which from above look like a patchwork blanket.

Before Alvarinho and family viticulture, subsistence agriculture was practiced in our territory. Families had fields and vegetable gardens where there was a habit of growing aromatic herbs to make infusions or for culinary uses. We recovered this tradition because we believe in the unique potential of this territory for the production of infusions, embracing this project that we are very passionate about. We produce biological infusions, with an innovative process that, through dehydration at low temperatures, results in infusions with a high content of essential oils and, after harvesting and manual selection, guarantees more than 90% of the leaf. The prizes have been awarded in major global competitions, such as Les Thés du Monde or Great Taste . On this visit, you will get to know the territory better, the entire process from maternity to harvesting and then you will have the opportunity to taste The Pur Terroir infusions in the territory of origin, harmonized with local products.
