The different vineyard plots and varieties are harvested separately. Alicante Bouschet and Trincadeira come from old vines around 25 years old in well-drained alluvial soils of the Carapetos vineyard. Since 2010, the average yield of this vineyard has been a meager 4.03 t/Ha, thus contributing to a significant concentration. A more mature and intense Alicante Bouschet is also included, coming from the Dourada vineyard, with clayey Mediterranean soils (with limestone profiles) and aged 18 years at harvest.

2016 being the second consecutive year of a dry winter, the campaign always recorded high temperatures until the harvest, which arrived 10 days early. Diligent winemaking ensured that quality expectations were exceeded, resulting in one of the best Mouchão in recent years.

Intense garnet color, aromas of black fruit, plum jam, mint, ripe olives, with fresh notes of mint, eucalyptus and slightly green stem. Wonderfully fresh and structured, yet balanced, and with expressive and elegant tannins ensuring longevity.
