Touriga Franca, from the vineyard plots at the top of Vale da Teja and Touriga Nacional, originating from the Quinta Nova vineyards, located at around 450 meters above sea level, constitute the pillars of the Quinta do Vesúvio DOC Douro plot every year. .

The Quinta Nova vineyard was acquired by Dª Antónia Adelaide Ferreira in the mid-19th century, who could not have imagined that these high-altitude vineyards would prove to be so valuable for the property's red wines at the beginning of the 21st century. Quinta do Vesúvio 2019 presents seductive floral and fresh aromas of rose hips and secondary notes of cloves and some wood smoke, very discreet and well integrated, not overlapping, but rather in harmony with the entire set.

It fills the palate fully with rich fruit (blackberry, blueberry and black plum), well defined and highlighted by acidity that gives good size and balance to the wine. The tannins, very present, but very fine, provide the imposing structure that Quinta do Vesúvio wines have accustomed us to. The aging was carried out in 400 L and 225 L French oak barrels (80% new and 20% used) for 14 months. Grapes: Touriga Nacional (51%), Touriga Franca (45%) and Tinta Amarela (4%). Bottled in April 2021.
