Following the success with our first Alvarinho sparkling wine, we were curious to see what Alvarinho expressions would be like after barrel fermentation. Soalheiro Espumante Bruto Barrica is a sparkling wine with a distinct character provided by its aging in barrels.

Primary fermentation takes place in oak and the base wine remains in barrels for 12 months, giving it a great complexity of flavor and a creamy, long-lasting texture.

After secondary fermentation in the bottle and after 36 months of aging, this wine shows all the elegance and complexity of Alvarinho, with special emphasis on its less fruity characteristics.

It is a wine that follows the production model of our favorite French sparkling wines, but with a special touch of Monção and Melgaço.
